DHHS was looking out for a contractor to enhance and maintain the Research and Evaluation Management Information System (REMIS) application.
REMIS is a multi-function/multi-level database application developed as an internal tracking mechanism for planning and evaluation work performed by the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE), including management of project funding. REMIS needed to be upgraded to the latest features and functionality to make accessibility even smoother.
KSApex modernized the REMIS application and successfully migrated financial and business process functionality into the REMIS system for effective decision-making on budget allocations. Existing XML files were in an inconsistent format. The team implemented XSLT/XML best practices and successfully published data.
We Implemented RESTful web service API to communicate with components of other Sourcing systems within ASPE and to provide data to the external interfaces. In support of the project, KSApex follows an Agile development approach with a heavy emphasis on DevOps and CI/CD automation.
REMIS since recent development has delivered increased reporting capacity and improved transaction capture. The system aligns with internal controls, Section 508 compliance, meets HHS cybersecurity requirements, Enterprise Performance Life Cycle (EPLC), ATO, HHS policies, and industry best practices for Financial Management Systems. The customer was very new to agile so we taught and advised best practices throughout the execution so that everyone can audit the validity of work and associated communication using dynamic dashboards.
